After a week of bad weather the Friday turned out as a wonderful spring day with clear blue skies. Good weather for top performances and that is what we got.
The most impressive track number , the 100 m sprint, was won by Giorgio Gravenbeek in 10.83. Junior-C Luc Orbons put down a good 11.62 and the fastest girl was Junior B Lianne van Krieken in 12.30 which is good for a fifth place in the Track Meetings best list. In this list you will find the best results ever achieved at the Track Meetings since 1998.
The Runnersworld vouchers for youngster were handed out at the 800 m during this Track Meeting. In a big group Junior-A athlete Wessel van Veenen won in 1:55.40 for the boys and Mike Meijer was the fastest junior-B. The fastest girl junior-B girls was Kim Traas in 2:20.56.
The 1500 m was a clear victory for Junior-A Mike Foppen in 3:55.92. This brings him in third place in the Track Meetings best list. The fastest lady was Stella Kubasch in 4:25.44.0 Junior-B girl Jasmijn Lau won and crossed the finish line in 4:39.02.
In the 400 m Danaid Prinsen (Junior-B) came up with a formidable result. She finished in 56.90, good for a second place in our best ever list. The fastest man on the track was Roman Assmann in 49.94 hence winning from Junior-A Jurre Wildschut (50.15).
The first (out of 3) series of 3000 m was a very fast one. All 19 athletes crossed the finishline within 9:30. The winner was Junior-A Niels Theloosen in 8:45.07. In the second serie our attention was drawn to Junior-B Diane van Es from PAC. She finished in 9:45.10, which brings her in second place on our best ever list.
In the field event the IPC-athletes brought us some new national records. Mike Ultee (MF37) took home even two national records. Both in discus throw 36.03 m and shot put 10.17 m he is now holds the Dutch records. Ingrid van Kranen (VF11) also signed for a new national record in shot put with 7.32 m.
At the discus event Jeffrey Stokkel (Junior-A) won with 44.38 m. Best of the woman was Junior-B Jessica Schilder met 34.88. The best result in high jump was 1.75 m by Junior-C Luuk Peters.
The field event where Runnerworld vouchers could be earned was shot put. Junior-B Jessica Schilder, who was also successful and the discus throw, won this price by a shot of 12.58 m. Shaquille Bleecke was the overall winner with 14.99.
All in all we can look back on a successful event with 470 registrations and everything started in time. In three weeks the third Track Meeting will be held and we are already looking forward to it.
